Euura dolichura (Thomson, 1871)

Euura dolichura - dolichura group (formerly Pontania dolichura)

See Liston et al (2017) for determination of adults. The host plant is an upland species.

Larvae feed on downy willow causing an elongated gall, often paired, on the upper side of a leaf.

 

Size: Female: 2.8 - 4.0mm, male: 2.6 - 3.6mm

Status: Rare

Distribution: England, Scotland

Flight period: Univoltine

Plant associations: Salix lapponum (downy willow)
